Workshop Mechanical Fitter
Hercus Pty Ltd is currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to assist in the Strip, Inspect and Repair of various sized gearboxes and assemblies

Our Fitting section boasts a large pressing capacity up to 400T, overhead cranes up to 6.3 tonne and all jigs and fixtures required to complete the range of work we have at Hercus.
​
The work will be a good mix of repeat jobs and new jobbing work, which keeps things challenging.
​
Hercus is heavily involved in providing products to the mining, manufacturing, agriculture, food production, maritime and power generation sectors; which in turns provides a variety of different fitting opportunities from week to week.
​
Permanent position will become available after an agreed trial period.
Who You are

Will need a trade qualification in "Certification III in Engineering" or show relevant experience in regards to fitting and assembly.

Be fully competent with stripping, inspecting and diagnosing faults with gearboxes and other assemblies.

Be fully competent with reassembling gearboxes and other assemblies, as well as compiling after reports.

Able to comprehensively read and understand engineering drawings.
​

Able to use measuring instruments (working with metric and imperial measurements)

Be prompt, reliable, efficient & ability to effectively work unsupervised.
​

Have a professional attitude and a sound work ethic.
​

Candidates with experience in gearbox rebuilds will be preferred.
